The 3/4" inner tube slides smoothly inside the 7/8" diameter tube, and the length is locked in place with a stainless steel thumb screw and plastic knob. The adjuster itself is permanently secured to the outer tube with a 3/16" stainless steel set screw, providing a sturdy, reliable telescoping mechanism.
