The 1/2" Sponge Rod is used for shimming and reinforcing upholstery panels, weather stripping around automotive doors, trunks, and convertible top headers. It can also be used for creating oversized welt cord that can be fabric-covered to conceal large openings, particularly in marine and RV applications. It is made from natural rubber and serves as a flexible, compressible material for sealing and finishing work.
