TENAX® Self-Locking Fastener Nickel-Plated Brass Clinch Peg

The TENAX® Self-Locking Fastener Nickel-Plated Brass Clinch Peg is used to create attachment points for compatible TENAX® buttons in canvas-to-canvas applications. Unlike the canvas peg, it is secured by bending the two prongs inward over a washer on the back side of the fabric. This makes it an economical option for applications where high load strength isn’t required.

Made from durable nickel-plated brass, it performs well in outdoor, moisture-exposed applications such as convertible tops, marine covers, and tarps.

Installation is simple: (1) cut 2 prong holes in the canvas using the 4140 2-Prong Hand Punch or a similar tool, (2) insert the top peg through the canvas from the front so the prongs extend out the back of the fabric, and (3) fasten it in place by bending the prongs inward against the washer—the tighter the prongs are bent (within reason, without over-bending or damaging the fastener), the more secure the hold will be.
